		< PRIMARY SCHOOL > Strong foundation of English One area where we are most proud and successful is fostering an environment for student successes in their future endeavours. We have a high percentage of enrolment in EMI(English as Medium of Instruction) schools with an equally high percentage of our students possessing a strong command of English. All-round character building Our students leave Delia with a strong sense of character, discipline and self-awareness. All skills are integral for future prosperity. As previously mentioned, our students also have the opportunity to express themselves in other facets of life through performing arts and athletics. We are fortunate enough to have a high number of Delia Primary School alumni taking time out of their own busy schedules and professional lives to come back and donate their time and talents to the next generation of Delians. Adaptation to Hong Kong educational system At Delia Primary School, we are also proud to be a part of the Initiation Programme (IP), whereby new students are welcomed into a transitional environment with others who are new to studying in Hong Kong. During their time in the IP programme, students learn to foster important relationships with their fellow classmates, teachers and school at large. The IP Programme serves as an important bridge for students so that they may adjust efficiently into the school culture at Delia, allowing them time to become familiar with their new surroundings so that they may reach their full potential in their futures at our school and beyond. Tailor-made Chinese Curricula Our diversified Chinese programmes permit students from all linguistic backgrounds a chance for success. Our tailor-made programmes place students in one of three learning groups so that instruction may be customized to the learning needs of students at their various skill levels. This is important as it allows those with developing foundations to immerse themselves in an environment that caters to their specific needs as it also does for those students with strong foundations. This type of differentiated instruction at Delia is yet another example of how we strive to lay the groundwork for students to achieve to their fullest potential.
< KINDERGARTEN > Advanced Education Rationale We have adopted the “Multiple Intelligences Theory” and teaching techniques of “High Scope Approach” to help our children develop a sound working attitude: Plan-Do-Review. Relevant and Balanced Curriculum Our children come from different countries and they need the school to adapt the curriculum to their needs, such as by incorporating different cultural elements. English is the medium of instruction to help children build a good foundation in the English language. We also stress the learning of both Cantonese and Putonghua. We provide vivid and interesting lessons to meet the children’s interests and help them develop “trilingual and biliterate” proficiency. Whole-person development entails the cultivation of good moral character in children. We emphasize moral education in curriculum planning to help our children develop the virtues of politeness, honesty, diligence, generosity, respect and responsibility. Relevant and Balanced Curriculum We enhance our children’s capabilities in language proficiency, logical thinking, creativity, and the performing arts through picture books and creative drama activities. We provide our children with various learning activities, so that they can acquire knowledge, attitude and skills through hands-on and kinesthetic practice, and have a sense of fun and enjoyment while learning through games. In order to deepen the consolidation of what the children have learned, we arrange for them visits and learning opportunities outside the classroom and the school campus.
